HOW IT WORKS-
Here are the most common questions our customers have asked about how the Solar Breeze works.

How does the Solar Breeze remove dirt and debris in my pool?
Water’s surface tension initially causes most dirt, dust, bugs, pollen, and debris in a pool to float on the surface for a considerable amount of time before sinking to the bottom.  This creates a film of dust and debris that is most visible when viewed at a low angle (with eyes close to the water) in a completely calm pool.  The film is very fragile, and approaching the film too quickly or suddenly will cause the film to sink to the bottom of the pool before it can be gathered and filtered out of the water.  The Solar Breeze is the only pool cleaner that is specifically designed to search for and scoop up this floating film.  Its slowly rotating paddlewheels scoop up the film gently without causing it to sink.

Will the Solar Breeze clean my entire pool?
Yes, the Solar Breeze is programmed to skim those areas of the pool where dirt and debris are likely to be.  Because even the lightest breeze causes debris to float to the downwind side of the pool, the powered "bumper wheels" on the front corners of the Solar Breeze rotate the unit each time it hits a pool wall, encouraging the skimmer to travel parallel to the pool edges where the wind has caused dirt and debris to accumulate.  The front paddlewheel will stop skimming if the Solar Breeze has been in one place for too long, and the rear paddlewheel will take over, changing the direction of the Solar Breeze until it can move forward in a new direction.   The Solar Breeze is programmed to occasionally change direction on it own and maneuver around obstacles in the pool.

Can the Solar Breeze get jammed?
No, jams may result from picking up large debris, but The Solar Breeze is designed to clear these jams on its own.  If the front paddlewheel becomes jammed so that it cannot rotate, the Solar Breeze will repeatedly reverse the front paddlewheel until the large debris is removed.  As soon as the jam is cleared, the Solar Breeze will continue skimming the pool as normal.  If the Solar Breeze cannot clear the jam after trying for 10 minutes, the skimmer will shut off until you clear the jam.

Can the Solar Breeze skim the pool during swimming and vacuuming?
No, the Solar Breeze pool skimmer should be removed from the water during swimming and vacuuming.

Do I still need to use my pool pump?
Yes, you’ll still have to use your pool pump, but only half the time.  The Solar Breeze skims your pool and dispenses chemicals through it’s own solar-powered skimmers so you do not need run your pool pump all day, which saves you money and helps the environment.
